How do i setup ignition/switch on Da100?
Ok, I am running a JR heavy duty switch, Da 100 ignition, and
4.8v pack. Can anyone post a diagram on how to wire this beast up? I know i dont plug the switch into the reciever, but it seems i have an extra lead i dont know what to do withi. Da did not send a diagram to wire the switch. |
RE: How do i setup ignition/switch on Da100?
Ill try to explaine this the best i can without a drawing.
You have 2 leads on your switch. the lead with the bigger square end goes to the battery. the other standard end goes to the ign. its pretty simple. just lay it out on the table before you install it. hope this helps i can post a picture of a set up i have laying around if this helps |

Dennis, do u have the da 100? if so what is the switch you use and yes

No i dont have a da, this is a zdz ign. they both only have 1 lead coming out the ign. im using a electrodymanics heavy duty switch.

Thanks Dennis but my da has 2 leads coming out the ignition, and the 2 leads on the other side
are for spark plugs |

Just to make absolutely certain, I think you ought to pick up the phone and call DA about their ignition wiring.
They would be most happy to help you. 3dbob |
RE: How do i setup ignition/switch on Da100?
I agree with 3dbob. the last da 100 i had only had 1 wire and 2 for the plugs.

I have the same problem, a DA-100 ignition with four wires, two are for for sparkplugs and on the other two, one has two plugs on the same wires - red & black and then a separate plug. DA's instructions do not address what they plug into.

LOL....You guys kill me...one of the leads go to the HALL sensor you know the other wire hanging from the motor. and the other is the battery source

ORIGINAL: imaokie Hey isn't that what the forum is for......so you experts can help us newbies?? ;) |
RE: How do i setup ignition/switch on Da100?
Imaokie, yes thats my setup exaclty, i know where all the wires go but the only question
i have is the switch. Obviously the 2 spark plug wires are for the plugs, The single red wire is for the Hall sensor obviously... but unlike you Dennis, Imaokie and i have a question about how to hook up the red and black as he has shown. Like you I am using the same Cermark / JR HD switch. What do we do with the orange wire? The ground if you will? Since our ignition only has black and red wires. If we cut off the connector for the JR switch, that leaves the ground (orange) wire without a home if u will. I have heard of some guys using "Deans" 3 prong plugs. |
RE: How do i setup ignition/switch on Da100?
The black wire is ground red is power and orange is signal wire. there is no need to worry about the orange wire in this application. as there is only a red & black lead for the ign.

RE: How do i setup ignition/switch on Da100?
Thanks Dennis thats what i assumed. Being a newbie is not much fun but hey, wasnt everyone
a newbie at some time? LOL Ill just snip her off and shrink tape the orange to the rest of the wiring with heat shrink tubing. |
RE: How do i setup ignition/switch on Da100?
Dennis I'll add my thanks too, having been out of rc planes since 1983, gas engines and giant scale airplanes are totally new to me, but I'm determined to learn enough about both to put a DA-100 on a 35% Edge 540 and have a great time flying that baby next summer.
