3W 80i
 

I saw some post about mounting, ect. on this engine, but nothing about flying performance.
Is anyone flying this engine?
What prop are you running?
Would like to hear how it performs.

Well I have not had mine in the air yet. 6300 with a Bolly wood 26-10 on the bench, smooth running and good transition, as strong as a DA 100, I don't think so:eek:

However a good motor all the same, stronger than my old ZDZ 80 rv for sure, from what I can tell. Will have it flying some times in May.

i just bought 2 of these, 1 is a 3w80, the other was listed as a 3w80toc, is there a difference?

Are you referring to the old 80 Twin? The TOC one is massaged a little,(ports, balancing, etc.) pretty much the same as the CS series are without the titanium wrist pin and the red paint on the jug. Don't know if they are doing a TOC 80 single or not, they are doing the CS version, that's the one I got.

Its the single we are talking about, the 80i, or 80xi, same thing right. There is also the 3W-80xi-TS (Twin Spark) and others!

At Aircraft International its on sale for 625.00 now, and many others models too, so dig in:D

Hey Julius, you just might see one in a plane at Rantoul...The stock 3W 80 single turns the F1GT prop faster on the ground than the stock GT80. Don't know yet about unloading in the air like the GT80...Think about it, cheaper and faster is always better :D

Cactus has them on sale too. If you are looking for a 3W now is the time to get one!

I got one at 675.00 last fall. I did not think for a moment that they would drop to 625.00, I thought they were going up in price. Still :D
