GIANT ENGINE- decompression valve

Has anyone used the Husky chainsaw engine with the decompression valve and does it help start engines converted to RC use? Thanks CaptinJohn

Hand started engines need compression to start easily..A compression release makes hand starting harder...Get a big glove or an electric starter, or CD ignition with a spark retard..An engine set up this way can be started with one finger...Been There, do it all the time to demonstrate.....I use my little finger on converted G62 engines.....

I guess the compression release valve must help rope starting only... the rope pulls more easy.... different from hand starts I seen 2 chainsaws with this feature and just wondered. Thanks RCIGN....just wanted to see if you where on the ball!!! :) Take care Captinjohn

some Quadra engines had the compression releif valve as well.
it had to be opened to start and it closed just after flipping the prop. I think it was one of the first Q65/75/100 series
