Rx / Ignition Electronics Separation?

Hi All,

I'm very sorry for this basic question, but I've just come across so many opinions in different threads on this subject that I'm hoping to get some specific inputs in one place.

Just how far apart do I need to keep my Rx and Ignition Electronics apart? I've read everything from guys keeping EVERYTHING no closer than 12" apart to guys running their Rx and Ignition batteries side-by-side. What is the REAL scoop?

Thanks very much in advance!

12 inches is generally recommended, however there are situations where you wont have any problems running them close together. I always set mine up with as much space as is practical for my set-up. I try to keep all my ignition components forward of the firewall, if possible. I think the newer ignitions are less of a problem than some earlier set-ups. Its really a crap-shoot, and either way, you need to have a good range check with engine running.

I agree with the above post. I have had mine pretty close before with out any problems though. As long as you have a good range check (manufacturers recommended) engine off/on and no more than 10% degradation between the two you will be fine.
