bme 110 and carb problem
 

I have a carb that runs rich on the low end. I can get the needle into 1/8 of a turn out and it will still climb 500 -600 rpm when pinching the fuel line closed.
I think it is the pop off pressure but not sure.

I was told it should pop at 10-12 and reseat at 5-6 psi.

any help?

Wait for RTK to get back home tonight or tomorrow. He's done about all that can be done with a carb on the 110.

A pinch test on a gas engine should not give any information that I am aware of.
You need to lean the engine so that there isn't a hesitation from idle to mid-throttle.
Just keep leaning until you get the hesitation then back off.
With my BME 100, I close the throttle and adjust the needle to get a reliable idle, good transistion, and no real issues on extended down lines.

Note: I do have mine set rich right now. I changed oils and will be leaning my engine as time permits.

According to Walbro, the pump provides up to 8 psi fuel pressure. Make the pop-off too low, and the needle will never properly seat again with engine running. I experienced carb dripping at a 12 psi pop-off, so I quickly restored it to a higher 20 psi. At this setting the carb became very reliable.
Engine acceleration is the master of idle setting.
Whilst not standard procedure in gas engines, fuel line pinch may help to check mixture richness. If the idle still is too rich as shown by pinch, and the engine stalls at throttle up, then maybe the main needle is too lean.
