Fuel tank question
Guys
I bought a 20 oz. dubro fuel tank and the lines are very small compared to the line on my quadra 35cc gas engines carb. I ask the guy at the hobbie shop about this tank using gasoline in it and he said it was fine, my concern is the small line exiting the tank may make the engine starve for fuel. The lines appear to be the size of standard lines for a glow engine. Thanks gbfan |
RE: Fuel tank question
A little understood and mostly unknown FACT......ANY gasser up to and including a 150cc 3W works just fine using the smallest ID fuel line...
Hayes Products molded neoprene is the absolute best....IMHO.....Or maybe not so HO ;) I just measured the fuel inlet fitting on the Tillotson carb on a new 3W 157..About .070....Big tygon tubing gets hard after a while and requires tie wraps to keep it on..The seamless molded neoprene will not slip off and is hard to even pull off.. Don't knock it if you haven't tried it:D |
RE: Fuel tank question
That sounds great. But , unless I change the fitting
on my Quadra 35 Tillotson carb standard tubing is to small It wont go on. |
RE: Fuel tank question
"Medium" fuel line is all most gas engines need. Use Tygon or neoprene for gasoline. Both can be heated with a shrinking gun to allow easier installation.

RE: Fuel tank question
My experence has shown that if the inside diameter of the fuel line is bigger than the inside diameter of the nipple on the carb. it's just overkill.

RE: Fuel tank question
Snowmobile vinyl primer line works well too. Won't go hard like tygon.
