CHARGING IGNITION BATTERY???

I am running a DA 50 w/ignition and I am trying to figure out how can I charge my ignition battery without having to diconnect it from the ignition everytime I need to charge? How are some of you charging your ignition batteries? There has to be wasy to isolate the ignition module without having to umplug the connector to the ignition every time.

Thanks

I just use one of these switches and charge thru the charge jack..no need to disconnect anything

You have to have your ignition on a switch. The switch has a charge lead built into it.

Get a switch with a built in charging jack. Cermark makes a very good one. I always put them in my planes and have not had one fail yet. Then you can leave your battery plugged in and check and charge your battery with the plane assembled. Just make sure you put at least 12 inches between switches.

How do you disconnect power from the ignition module when the engine is not in use?
Are you using a switch, disconnecting the battery manually from the ignition or what?

RE: CHARGING IGNITION BATTERY???

I've had lots of success in my sailplanes using switch/jacks that I built using the instructions here (http://www.hollyday.com/rich/hd/sail...witchjacks.htm) My first wet powered toy is arriving via UPS tomorrow, and I intend to use switch/jacks for my igniction and RX batteries.

Lots of lift, Glover
