US Engines 45CC

Hi all-

I made a trade a few months back resulting in me owning a US Engines 45CC. I believe the engine is less than 5 years old and the trader told me he had "good luck" with it. Since I'm really only familiar with glow, can you guys tell me where this engine stands on the overall scale of quality, weight, reliability, and application? I mean, 1 being a joke, 10 being the best, where would this thing fall? Can I think about using it for my first giant-scale plane or is it best to let it sit on the shelf or use it as future trade bait??

Thanks in advance

RE: US Engines 45CC

flyinhigh,
Are you sure it is a 45cc? US/Quadra usually come in a 35,40,41,42cc and a 50,52cc and larger engines. Never heard of a 45cc.
They are all good sport engines. Most are a little on the heavy side due to the mag ignition. A photo would clear up its identity.

RE: US Engines 45CC

Thanks Dave, for the input.

You are correct, it's a 41. Shows you how much I know on the subject. So, US is Quadra and vice versa?

It seems to me that most airplanes are in the 25CC range or 50CC, will this engine fly a 50CC a/p??
