How is this companys engine service if i buy the 115 will i have any customer service?.................thanks

I have had awesome customer service from BME, I had a minor case leak on my 115, sent it in on a Monday and had it back in my hands 2 days later, cant beat that. They have always done me well, and you will love the 115!

Hey razor!

Just bought a 115 today from Don's Hobby Shop. I would have bought straight from Keith, but the taxes well outweighed the shipping costs. How did you know that you had a case leak? What were the symptoms?

In all honesty, about 3 years ago the service at BME was slow and questionable.
Now, it is great. I have two BME 100's and would have no problem buying another one.
Just remember to keep them cool and you will not have any problems.
Keith has outsourced the sales to Don's Hobbies so he has more time to handle MFG and service.

Sailor, I had raw fuel coming out from the front of the case, I noticed it when I pulled the cowling. BME fixed it very fast and I was flying again the same week, hard to beat that.

It is as smooth as a DA, transition is awesome, low idle, easy to tune, and the top end power is awesome. You will not be dissapointed in the motor. What you putting it on?

prolly aeroworks yak or the ultra rc yak 35%...........which one do you like?

I would go with the ultra rc yak. Its a bit bigger with more wing area, and bet it weighs less than the AW. I have flown the AW 75cc yak and it flys great, but its a bit heavy for its size. Are you going with stock mufflers or cans?

Stock mufflers are fine, just loud. I am running them right now but my next plane with the 115 will get a set of pipes.

I wonder what the auw will be on the ultra yak with the 115 and if it will balance ok........

About 2 pounds lighter than it would with any other engine. Balance will depend on where the owner places the equipment. None of the manufacturers really think this part through when they do all the fancy deck cut outs for equipment. Rather than have a bunch of holes and slots where I can't use them I'd rather see a solid floor that I could cut for myself to obtain the balance I needed.

I have to say that this is an area that a new Suhhoi coming out addressed rather well. With the exception of the holes for rudder servos it has nothing but lengthwise slots in the deck that are easy to make use of.

Im new to gas but i know what your talking about that would be nice to have a solid floor, this is my second gasser my first is the 85"yak QQ it has 3 tanks threw it lol[:@]:D

The ultra rc yak will balance with the 115. I know of one flying and with a DA 100 they have their batteries and equipment all the way at the back of the hatch for balance, so it shouldnt be hard to balance with the BME. Just know when you mount the engine, have at LEAST 1" from the front of the cowling to the spinner backplate, dont butt the prop right up to the front of the cowling as this makes the prop less effecient. If you have to move the motor out to 1.5" of space that will probably be even better and help balance if necessary. Look at the full scale yaks and sukhois, there is a reason the prop and spinner is out in front of the cowling by a good bit.
