Weed eater Engine
I have a weed eater engine that was given to me by a friend who couldn't get it to run. It has a chinese version of a Walbro Carb. I have gotten it to run, but am not sure where to set the two needle valves (high speed and low speed). any ideas from anyone would be helpful. Roger Q. |

RE: Weed eater Engine
Roger Q.,
Try setting both needles at 2 turns open. Fire the engine up and start leaning the low end 1/8 of a turn at a time until you loose a good transition and then back it off 1/8. Now go to the top end and start leaning it until you reach peak rpm and then back it off 1/8. Go back and check the low end once again. |
RE: Weed eater Engine
Zippi: thanks for the advice: I took it up this afternoon, ran the motor, and after a bit of adjusting the motor is running superbly. I am going to put it into a 1/4 scale cub, at least that is my plan for the time being. Any changes, I shall let you know. Roger Q.
