RE: BME 50 question

I run a 21/8 BME prop on mine and it will turn 7200 plus all day long. Used a 22/8 Menz and 3-W but it would only turn 6700 or so and sag when it got warm and humid here which is most of the time as you know.

RE: BME 50 question

I am new to gassers and just completed a GP Patty with a BME 50. My engine doesn't seem to be able to draw gas into the carburetor when choked so I cannot get it to start. The fuel lines and tank assembly look fine. I am using a 3 line set-up. Does anyone have any suggestions as to where to look for the problem?

RE: BME 50 question

I am going to pass a hint on that someone else here gave me. Pull out the high and low speed needles and squirt some fuel in the holes. Reset needles and choke. It should draw fuel.

RE: BME 50 question

crashhappy-- I would not use the props you currently have, there are much better props to be had. Try Menz-s,BME,Mejz,Bolly etc. You also want to prop the engine to spin more into the 7000rpm range (static) Don't lug it down

bogie--You might need to buy a carb rebuild kit. (about 12 dollars at the local saw shop, if available) The wonderful gas here in California made one of my carbs go bad in 6 months.
