Prop Drilling - Which way??
Ok, 1:22 a.m. and I want to drill my CF prop for my DA50. Do the bolt holes go 12 and 6 / 9 and 3 with the prop sitting at 9 & 3? or is it the 10/4 - 7/2 o'clock position???

RE: Prop Drilling - Which way??
Mac,
Mine are at about the 2/8 and 11/5 position with the prop blades vertical. On my DA this results in the prop at about the 2/8 position when it hits compression. That's the best position for me to hand flip. Greg |
RE: Prop Drilling - Which way??
I also use the 2-8 and 5-11 position and I drill from the front.

DA told me to drill it from the back???

RE: Prop Drilling - Which way??
drill from the back...... that is where the pattern will be most accurate and that is what is against the hub

RE: Prop Drilling - Which way??
Drill from the back. If you are not exactly precise in your
drilliing, the holes will come closest to matching the bolt holes in the hub. |
RE: Prop Drilling - Which way??
What about the pattern guys? does it even matter?

RE: Prop Drilling - Which way??
I don't remember what it is on the clock....
but yes.....I bring the motor up to compression where the ignition sensor isright at the pickup... I then position the prop so it will be at about 2:00 then mark that for a rough spot... I then use the jig to drill....... so when i am done the prop is up at 2:00 and easier for me to start |
