DA50 needle settings

I need to know the base starting settings for both the high speed and low speed needles. How many turns are you happiest with?

Thanks,

Doug

RE: DA50 needle settings

straight from the owners manual

Settings will vary with altitude, temperature, humidity, fuel, carburetor variances, etc. A
general starting point is: 1-5/8’s open on the Low needle, 1-7/8’s open on the High needle.

RE: DA50 needle settings

Thanks a lot. Turned out the throttle push-rod had come loose on the servo and the spring had the throttle full closed. I could get an occassional two blade fire, then nothing. Thought I had completely lost my mind and memory on how to start the engine I have 60 flights on. Got the needles close out in the front yard, but it's getting almost dark and I don't want to completely annoy the neighbors.

RE: DA50 needle settings

whoops....

glad it worked out....

just make sure that either someone was holding the plane or it was a SOLID test stand... while your throttle was closed... I've seen airplanes start with the throttle stuck full open...
Thank God someone was holding the plane
