Mounting the ignition module
I'm trying to finish up mounting my new Brillelli 40GT. The ignition module is just an aluminum box with no brackets for bolting it to anything.
What's the preferred method for mounting one of these ignition boxes to the motor box? I was thinking velcro or wire ties. I was going to use silicone to mount it, but then I'm thinking I should put a thin layer of foam padding under it to insulate it from vibration, so silicone wouldn't work. My first gasser. Thanks |
RE: Mounting the ignition module
i usually use the larger ties about 1/4 wide and use one going left to right and one going top to bottom with 1/4 inch foam on the back the size of the module.

Some ignition boxes need air to help cool it. I always put a piece of 2 sided foam stiky tape on each corner then use zip ties this allows air to pass around the ignition.

RE: Mounting the ignition module
I believe the engine he is using has an ignition very similar to, if not actually being, a CH. If so, then the method krayzc noted is just fine. If it's a 3W or Falkon type then it will need some room for air to blow under and around it as noted by AirWizard.

RE: Mounting the ignition module
I like to slide the zip ties through a piece of glow fuel tubing then zip tie ignition. I do the same for batteries keeps things from moving over time
