Gas Engine

Wow !
Check this one out !
38ccs, with Chinese electronic ignition, RDJ7Y spark plug !
Weighs 44 oz with ignition, but without muffler !
2024 aluminum prop hub with a 5/16 grade 8 prop bolt predrilled for a 10-32 spinner bolt !
Rear exhaust !
Oversize 13.49 mm Walbro carb on a G10 insulator, no bell crank necessary !
Lightweight steel plate mount !
Turns a Mejzlik 18-6 at 9000 rpm, just like a G26 !;)
Been around unchanged for at least 20 years, unmatched quality and reliability !
You guessed it, a Zenoah G38, otherwise known as an overweight, underpowered boat anchor..Funny how it sounds different this way, and compares to other engines the same size [8D]
Hey moderators, is it advertising if there's no mention of price ? Or if I get a few buddies to tell other people what it cost ?
Lessee, we can do a "loss leader" price to get it noticed, then raise the price on the website :)
What would be a good price ?

This sounds like a good replacement for an OS 1.60. How much is the conversion Ralph?

Funny how you can't get away with advertising but you seem to always manage to find a way to indirectly bash your competition.

Been asked to edit my post... so be it Mods if you don't think this edit is good enough you can delete my post. The above is true and you can find countless examples.

RE: Gas Engine

Per RCU rules:

Any non-paying advertiser-------Thats you Ralph----------may post one new product announcment in the forums once per month. That means you can put up pics and prices once a month.

What you CAN'T do is flood multiple forums with your product announcement or do it more than once per month.

Thats the rule. I didn't make the rule. I just enforce it and clarify it when there's a discrepency in one of the furms I moderate.

That being said--Ralph--please post pics and prices of your latest little jewel. Post that info right here in this thread so everyone can see it. I can't wait to see it.

Thanks

Yup, OLD dog, 72 to be exact...New tricks ? Not needed, the old ones work just fine...Bashing ? WHERE ?
You might look up the word "satire" in the dictionary...
You gotta be paranoid, there is NO mention of ANY other engine or manufacturer...
EVERY word in the post is FACT, the G38 has been around for at least 20 years UNCHANGED except for the aluminum hub and carb with a choke...
And it's in my very own post, not in anyone else's...If you don't like it don't read it..:D
................................ to you ;)

Jake Ruddy 03-31-2007 03:34 PM

RE: Gas Engine

It's pretty hard not to read your posts.. they are pretty funny and show up even in threads that have nothing to do with you. :) I

That being said.. I am with RcPilet post some pics and prices of your new little gem for which you started this thread for....

.. Oh wait we know why you started it.. nothing to do with a new engine.

I have nothing to be paranoid about.. something you don't seem to understand is I have nothing to do with any product sold on RCU... I work on computers for a living.

RE: Gas Engine

Well if you actually knew what the thread was for, here it is....
Since I have been accused of posting unwanted FACTS in other threads, I started my own...
Kinda like the 50cc thread elsewhere that had all the different brands on it...
This one started out to be poking a little fun...The more I looked at it, the G38 (20 years old) is no heavier and runs just as well as the newest 36...How can that be, according to conventional wisdom Zenoahs are overweight under powered boat anchors...
It was humor, some of you guys who just can't wait to find fault took it seriously...
Funny thing, someone already wants one, and will get it...Working on a good used one today, If he sends me his address it will be his next week, my compliments...
Who knows, he might even like it :D

Jake Ruddy 03-31-2007 04:38 PM

RE: Gas Engine

Well the problem is humor is subjective and while you think you are being funny.. I see it as being jealous (truth be told) That aside I don't think anyone is claiming to have reinvented anything here. the FACT here is that the "new 36" is selling like hot cakes, just like much of the entire line of that "new engine company" for very good reasons... one of which being outstanding customer service.

I have made positive comments on your knowledge on several occasions, even sent a few G62s to you indirectly through people asking me questions. However when you jump in threads specifically labeled to another company and make your "jokes" and "facts" and take it completely off topic.. then yes I find that a "fault" and get irritated with it. Clealy I am not the only one.. I just tend to be more blunt about it.

edit: I have no doubt he will be happy with the engine

Actually I don't think Ralph gives a hoot one way or another about most anything. Note that he's fully retired and for all intents and purposes his engine work and sales is done for fun and something to do. At what he charges for his work HE CAN'T be making much, if any, money at it. Overall I think he's rather altruistic by providing so much knowledge, talent, and effort to so many for so little for so long. Now because he tells it like it is (Synergy, like you;) and me:)) some get a little hot because it might step a little hard on someones favorite brand. I suppose it could be like telling someone his girlfriend is ugly, but unfortuantely sometimes that's true[X(]

Ya'll will give me a moment to don my Nomex, won't you?[8D]

I have met Ralph and talked with him many times. (he probably hates hearing my voice) Usually I am picking his brain, sometimes I let him know what I have found out from my testing to see what he thinks. Ralph has never "bashed" any manufacturer to me, and we have talked about them all. I think Silversurfer pretty much has it right. Ralph really has a love of these hobby engines, why else would he do what he does for next to nothing??????????????????????????

RE: Gas Engine

From with I have seen Zenoahs are reliable extremely long lasting engines. Maybe not the latest, most powerful, lightest or smallest, just well engineered engines that start and run great, day in day out.

Toni Clark in Europe has some neat 90* elbows for the Zenoah intakes to keep the carbs in the cowl.

OK Ralph, You have been given permission to post your prices for this conversion. What's the price and do you have any photos? Or do you prefer not to post prices?

So, as I understand it, you can post your prices for a different engine each month. Maybe you could post them in the same thread called "Ralph's Conversions" or something. That way all your stuff could be in the same place and easy to find. What do you think?

Ralph,

I have three G38's. Two NIB. I'm thinking about using one of them in my Ebay Zero. 44oz is about right for it. What's the website address??

It's not the best website, but if you use your mouse and click on the menu it's mostly all there :D

Sinergy: You got to TRY and not be so touchy about what RCIGN1 says in his postings. The fact is he has helped more people with engine problems than you can imagine. Several years ago I printed out page after page of postings that Ralph made helping people. He explains everything out for new problems that need to be figered out. He has like the others said, gave SO MUCH for so little. He clearly loves engines and helps about anyone. I hope you can see that, in the big picture if things. RCIGN1 needs more praise...not criticism. If you want I could scan the printed out data .....with lots of very good help for folks many years ago he gave. I would hope to see people try to be more positive on here. Best regards to all.....Capt,n[X(]

Ralph,

Are you ever going to announce products or prices? Your website seems to have nothing, it looks like a forum.

Ralph,
I for one commend you and welcome your efforts, Knowledgeable, Informative, Humorous, Common sense, = PRICELESS. IMO, to many Watch/Guard Dogs for some of the other companies, that's ready to attack for what ever reason right or wrong, weather they are associated with the company or not. Big turn OFF.

Ralph If you convert them they will come. I know a few people including myself awaiting your results on these.
Mean old man, deep in a hole. NOT, more like, mean old man, sitting at the top of a hole watching everyone else struggle to get out when there's a ladder two feet from them. I like your style.:D[>:]:D:D:D

Hey,sinergy,if the fact that someone else offers a potentially superior product to your beloved preferance bothers you so much, perhaps you ought to consider taking up stamp collecting,or fishing,or even bowling. :D:( I Appologize to the fishermen, bowlers and stamp collecters that may be offended by this comment.
