Evolution 45GX2 Problem
I have a brand new Evo 45gx2 That I attempted to start up today. Problem is that when I flip the prop a few times I see no gas moving through the line to the carb. It has a walbro carb on it. I pulled the fuel line off of the gold nipple on the carb and blew into it but nothing happened. Im pretty sure I have all the lines hooked up correctly. Any ideas?

RE: Evolution 45GX2 Problem
Does the choke plate have a hole in it? My 26GT does and it doesn't like to draw fuel when choked!

I got it started. It was vaporlocked. It does run kinda rough but it was the first time its been started.

Odd, dispite getting it to start last night... it will not suck gas again today by flipping the prop. I tried holding my hand over the exhaust and carb nipple just like yesterday but today nothing. I dont get it.

RE: Evolution 45GX2 Problem
close the little hole in the choke plate with your finger whilst choking and flipping. Once fuel is into the carb, all will be well. If the problem persists, check out all tubing. The fuel should stay there and not run back from the carb.
If it does, check your carb very well. See http://www.prme.nl/forum/viewtopic.php?t=10 for understanding the Walbro. |
RE: Evolution 45GX2 Problem
I changed all the fuel tubing and fastened one line I found had no ties on it. It was the line from the tank to the tee. So far all is well and it starts on the first flip. The idle is pretty rough though. Does yours vibrate enough to shake the rudder pull pull cables and tail? It seems to smooth out at higher rpms but at idle it wants to creep forward and shakes a good amount. I think i might post a video just to confirm if its normal vibration or not.
Thanks for the information though. If I have a problem again I'll be sure to try it. |
RE: Evolution 45GX2 Problem
A T-line from the tank always is a source of problems. Use a direct fuel draw line from tank to engine, and use a separate fill and vent line. (3-line tank system)
