BME 100 Twin

Can I use a 28x10 prop? Will it swing it? Thanks!

YES. .

yes you can swing a 28-10 prop, using the newest version the 102-Evo, that has been out for about a year now. . BUT. . some things you need to do. First, you MUST have a tuned canister system, to boost top end power. Secondly, you have to have the motor well broken in. third, a Menz 28-10 will be a bit much, even on canisters, the Mejzlik 28-10 will get about 6300-6350 on a good day, so you need another prop alternative. My recommendation would be the AM 28-10 available from Desert Aircraft. It's a pricey prop, but the thinner blade profile compared to the Menz and Mejzlik will allow the engine to RPM better, keeping it in the rpm range it likes, which is above 6500 rpm. Even then, though, you should make sure to have a cansiter setup to extract as much thrust form the AM when it unloads.

Another thing. . don't expect the motor to LIKE running for at full throttle for long periods of time swinging this much prop. Make sure to duct cooling air to keep the motor as cool as possible, and let the motor have a break. If the motor sags from overheating, bring the plane in and address the heating situation, otherwise the engines life will be severely shortened.

Hope this helps

Thank You!

Kris,
Seems like I will stick with what works... The 26x10 turns great and I get unlimited power with it. Thank you again.
