Throttle cable

Just finished installing my Ryobi 26cc in my 1/4 scale cub and used a metal cable for throttle linkage. The radio compartment is in the rear of the plane for balance and only the servo is close to the cable. The servo of course has a nylon servo arm. My question is.......... is this set up ok?, will I get RF feed back?.

Thanks guy's your input is always useful.
Peter.

cable

I always use this type of setup on my planes. I just make sure that the cable is isolated from the engine with a plastic link. There are those that say that won't work. I can only say that it works for me.

Throttle cable

Thanks for responding Dirtybird. By "plastic link", that would be the same as a nylon servo control arm?. I do not appear to get any interference at the present........ but who knows what it might be in the air or in future......... one of those mystery things. I just can not see much difference in the way I have hooked it up or in having the servo in the cowl, which in my opinion would be much worse. The antenna is also far away from this servo or linkage, 10'' or so. I am just trying to make sure I have not overlooked something.

servo arm

You do not want any metal to metal contact on the engine. I use one of those ball and socket connectors that use a plastic socket that screws on the cable end and snaps on a ball mounted on the throttle arm.
By plastic servo arm I assume you mean the one on the servo. That would not do it.
