You guys have helped me alot. All I hear is putdowns about the US41. I was wondering weather or not to put one in my 1/5 scale TF p47. Now by reading this I have made up my mind. The trouble these days is that everyone overpowers every thing . they think that if you dont have a zenoah or 3w the planes will never fly. Myself I am going to cover my bird with monokote not paint and fiberglass. I don't compete in any contests, I build for myself not the group around me. Again thanks :D

Robert,
We're glad to hear it! All of the test versions of the Top Flite Giant Scale airplanes were flown on the US41, and gave good performance. It should work out well for you. Happy Flying! |

I`m building a Big Hots, and wonder if my US 41 have the power to get her up where she`s belong..............in the sky.
Her weight will be around 15- 18 pounds. Prop size 18x 12 ?? Cbastian |

The weight is light enough that the engine won't have problems flying the model.
Select a propeller so that the engine is turning in the mid-7,000's, and you'll be OK. We'd think an 18 x 12 would be too much propeller for the engine, and would turn too low an RPM. |

Bax is right, 18x12 is a bit much. I have a GP Giant Aeromaster @ 18.5 lbs and the US41 with an 18x10 and now turns 7200-7300. I had a 20x8 and was only getting 6600 RPM. After a few minutes in the air it would start to load up, it was running to slow and to cold. Will try an 18x6-10 this weekend. PM me if you want results. |
