quiet props

I am looking for quiet props for my Zenoah G62 and my DL-50 engines that don't cost an arm and a leg. I have found Bambula & ZDZ as two examples. Are there any others out there that someone has experience with?

I really do like the NX props. The 22x10 standard is $25 which I consider a very fair price for a good quality prop.

RE: quiet props

I was told that the NX props are actually Zoar props. I have also read on this forum that Zoar props are not that quiet. I have used Zoar props on my OS 1.60 and I like them also but I have to somehow quiet my gas engines with both muffler mods and correct prop choices. I think alot of the quiet props are thicker and have more rounded tips and I know the Zoars I have owned don't fit that description.

PT for the quietest prop. NX are twice as loud but still quiet. Xoar are a totaly different prop and can be very loud.

OK, what are PT props and where do you buy them?

PT Models makes PT props. They are carbon fiber and sold by Troy Built Models. They are in the "arm and a leg category" compared to NX props. $54 vs $25 for a 22x10. Quietness costs.

yes I do understand that quiet does cost. How do Carbon fiber props durabilty compare to wooden props. I know on my nitro planes a plastic prop will take a gentle ground strike without breaking where as a wooden prop is not very tolerant to any kind of abuse.

CF props are very strong and stiff but do not take ground strikes well. At minimum you will mess up the tips and at worst you will crack the prop. I've used CF props but still prefer a good quality wooden prop.

Of the wooden props the Bambula may be the quietest. It is a broad blade prop and is sold by RC Showcase.

Maybe you should buy 3 or 4 different brand props and keep the one that you like the best. Sell the rest or keep them for emergencies.
