tank setup?
 

I am sure this has been ask a thousand times but I am going to ask it again.

I am thinking about getting my first gasser and I was wondering how to set up the tank. I know you need a gas stopper and tygon tubing but it pics people loop the line and do other stuff so what do I need to do?

The looped line is the vent line. I use 3 lines 1 to fuel, 2 to engine, 3 vent

If using the three pipe system (more reliable than using an inline fuler on the feed line) one pipe goes to the fuling line, stoppered arfter use, clunk line to the carb (STBO) and the vent line goes back over the top of the tank and out the bottom of the fus left open to atmosphere, the reason for this is to prevent syphoning after manouves have put fuel into the vent line, hope that's clear.

I'd use neoprene line and brass tubing. The "gas" tank stopper is a must have, too.

You can run a two-line or three-line system.

In the two line setup, one line is an open-air vent and the other goes to the carburetor. Install an inline filler on the carb line like the Dubro or Sullivan unit. I've had good experiences with both of these fillers.

When using three lines, one is the vent, one goes to the carb, and the third is a separate filler line. If you want the option of emptying the tank at the end of the day, run the filler line to a second klunk inside the tank. You can use a filling setup like a Fuel Dot to plug the end of the filling line when not in use.

Couple of other things, if you are going to use two clunks, wire them to each other to prevent tangaling, otherwise just put a Dubro tank in and put the filling line into the front extension with a Tygon tubing extention at the front of the tank, you can get 3W filling bungs as shown below, also do not forgett to barb the copper pipes as they will slip off otherwise, I use soft paper clip wire soldered onto the copper internally and externally and zip tye the tubing behind the barb, see pic below.

Also when replacing the tank stoppers with something designed for gas, stick with the DuBro option....the Sullivan 'gas compatible' stoppers....aren't compatible....at least not after a while when they start breaking down.

DuBro list a replacement stopper for tanks to be use with gas!

The Dubro gas stoppers hava a raised 0 on the face of them.
