engine comparisons

just wondering if any one has a comparison chart for the different engines out there? showing cc ,hp etc. and any thing showing glow 2 stroke compared to 4 stroke compared to gas
this would help on deciding on which way to go if you had a relation or what is equal to what in the different types of engine.

thanks
rick

edit....after re-reading the post, I found my reply to be unhelpful.

RE: engine comparisons

There really is no comparison, all three engine "families" are so different that their applications are mostly determined by airplane size, airplane class, users preference, etc. etc.

My own personal view, which you can feel free to discard if so inclined, is the following:

2-stroke glow: Good for the smallest RC planes, up to 1.20 CuI size or so. Good for swinging small props fast and for going fast.

4-stroke glow: Good in sizes .52 - 1.50 CuI (above that they become extremely thirsty). Best suited for aerobatic and 3D airplanes where swinging larger props slower gives better resultss.

2-stroke gasoline: All I deal with now. Will not go under 50cc, and prefer 100cc and up. Good reliable, clean, not cheap, but not that expensive.

thank you i guess what i'm trying to really ask then is maybe a comparison in the gas category if iwished to put a gasser on a 120 size plane how could i determine what model type gasser would be proper? i've figured that gassers are identified by cc am i right? and then how do i choose the best engine "because there are so many now on the market?

rick

as you see i'm new to gass
