Hello. I de-carboned (?) my engine. In the process, I removed the piston ring. However, I failed to notice the direction the cresents in the ring were facing...up or down? That is, when reinstalling the ring with the ring gap at the piston head pin (locater), should the cresents face down towards the crank or up ..towards the spard plug? Anyone who knows for sure please...thank you. (If I had to guess, I would install the ring with the cresents up as that view of the ring appears to be "black" i.e. discolored). However, this is only a guess.....thanks for your help and ciao TonyC
