kill switch
I need a kill switch for my brillelli 46gt that's on the way. I;ve seen the fibre optic ones but 70 bucks seems like a lot to spend on a kill switch. Is there anything out there that will work for around 50 or under. I need to be able to plug it into an extra channel so i can operate it from my tx
Thanks, Austin |
RE: kill switch
Yep, the throttle servo. A choke servo also if you use one. Then there's always the standard on-off switch used for the ignition itself.

RE: kill switch
This what I use. http://www.rcuniverse.com/market/item.cfm?itemId=343295 works great and a good guy to buy from.:D

RE: kill switch
I had purchased the opto remote kill switch but one of the servo leads wasn't soldered good enough and had come off (so the way i look at is if it can't handle shipping it can't handle my plane) If it fails my engine fail, and if i'm hovering 5 ft. off the ground and the engine fails[X(] I do have to agree with you though he is a great guy to deal with and gave me a full refund.
Thanks again, Austin |
RE: kill switch
Here's what I use on all of my planes. Never had a problem.

That's what I use it on. I run it between the EI and manual switch and program it onto my "A" switch on the Tx. Flick of a switch and the EI is OFF! So is the engine!!! $25.00 all day every day!!!:D:D:D:D:D

Thanks Lou |
RE: kill switch
No, thank you!! It's nice to be appreciated now and then. Especially after waking up to about $10,000.00 worth of flood damage this morning that my insurance company (Farmers) evidently won't cover. I'm always glad when I can help someone out with anything guys.:D:D:D:D:D:D:D BTW Mr. Lewis was my Dad and passed away in 1964. I'm just Lou!!!:D:D:D

It doesn't get much simpler, cheaper or more reliable than this for under $10.

RE: kill switch
If you can buy that switch, nyrod, plywood, and servo for under $10.00 you need to send me a link so I can get some. Also, solid state takes all of the possibilities of mechanical failure out of the loop.

RE: kill switch
The 100X works great, I put it in series with the manual switch. It has both a NO and NC contact so it will work well with either electronic or mag ignition.
I use mine on 1/3 Dr.1 Del |
