How do I install a smoke system to this engine?

Hi all,
I just bought a BCMA 26cc engine w/ a Pitts muffler. What's the best method to attach a smoke set up. Here's the one I bought: http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...9&I=LXHS71&P=K I think I will end up asking a guy (or 2) in my club w/ help, but I at least wanted to have some knowledge first, and order the parts I need. From what I can see all you need is a nipple and the tools to drill and tap a hole in the muffler to mount it. I would suggest between the stingers. Careful on the amount of oil flow as it will kill the engine if you push too much in. BTW You should have asked those guys in your club before you ordered that pump.[:'(][:'(][:'(][:'(]

The wall of the muffler 'can' may be pretty thin and not hold a threaded nipple in place with vibration and heat. Mufflers designed for smoke nipples usually have additional material added for mounting it. Mahy folks simply use the mounting flange of the muffler for the location of the smoke nipple. This area is plenty thick to accomodate it, and injects the oil into the hottest area of the exhuast. It can be drilled at an angle, away from the engine cylinder, to assist in preventing oil from injecting directly into the cylinder. Start out low on the pump setting, and make small adjustments up from there until you get where you need to be.

Dan, I don't know what you mean "that pumps is no good" I've been using them for years. One is over 8 years old. I just keep putting them in different planes. Never had a failure of any kind. When you make a statement like that give us a reason. Dennis

If you notice I put a question mark after . I was asking if it was no good because of Al's reply: "BTW You should have asked those guys in your club before you ordered that pump".
