Large Scale PROP flavors

What is your take on the different props available for larger aircraft (ie 18-24" props.) Does anyone like Zinger Pro or TF Power Point (or are they just Blue Light Specials?) Menz S, Bolly, Bambula? What is your experience?

I'm mainly looking for a relatively inexpensive prop to use on a 3W-24.

Thanks

Bolly - more RPM
Bambula - Less rpm, more thrust
Menz S - A little more speed

the different pitchs will change all of these. Those comparisons were just for all of the props being the same size and pitch.

I haven't personally had experience will all of these so I won't make / make-up comments about the rest of the props:)

I think other people will post their experiences with them.

I am also very interested in any comparisons that anyone has done, especially for 20"-22" props. I have a 3w 50i that I need to prop. I notice considerable performance improvements with APC props over all others in the .40-.60 glo engine range. Are there similar differences in these gas engine props? Are the carbon fiber props significantly better performing than the zinger, zinger pro, and other wooden props? I sure appreciate the input. Thanks!

Prop for 3w-24

I use this engine a lot in my research project. at last count, I think there are 16 of these engines on research planes of all sorts. I use the Master airscrew classic composite prop. If you want to pull heavy loads, the 18 x 8 prop is the prop of choice. On the ground, the engine will tach between 7800 and 8000 rpms. When loaded pulling a heavy load in the air, the engine turns in the mid 7000 rpms which is at the peak of the torque curve. If you are sport flying, the 18 x 10 is the prop of choice. The engine should tach in the low 7000s on the ground and unload to the mid 7000s in the air at the peak of the torque curve.

I think these are good props and I wish MAS would make them in sizes larger than 20 inch.

I hope this helps

Elson
