I have just read a post on the HH-100cc engine and have heard the pros and cons of buy and owning Chinese engines.

I am of the nature that if it runs good and does what I want it to do Its OK with me!

My only question is this... I purchased a GrPro 100cc engine from a friend at the local flying field.

In reading several post I see that If you dont buy the engine directly from a local supplier or directly from a Chinese supplier that you cant get
replacement parts.

Am I to understand that LOYALTY is only extended to the original owner?

Isnt that kinda like shooting yourself in the foot? Would you buy a engine with no parts support?

I understand that parts are limited but if the original owner sells the engine shouldnt the invoice and customer support go with it?

Shouldnt the dealer support the engine no matter who owned it first if the owner is willing to pay for the parts?

Im not looking for something for free I just want to know when I buy a used engine from someone that buys it from a dealer like this that I can keep it running.

Please respond to this note to let me know if you think this is only fair.

I have the 50cc and the 100cc

Send a pm to Mistydee0 and ask him about parts and service support. He used to be a GRPro dealer.

You ask questions that have obvious yes answers but unfortunately there are some manufacturers/companies that don't perform as a customer would hope and expect. It's an area where potential customers need to perform some research to better qualify a buy/don't buy decision. The decision should never be made on price alone, which is where many run into problems later.

Do not exspect any support for your GR PRO ENGINES. I was a dealer for the GR PRO engines, and I have [2] 100cc twins that the crankshafts failed during testing engines before selling them. Alfonso Wang refuses to service them and I am out $1000.00 for [2] GR PRO 100cc twins. The crankshafts failed after a short test run. The welds that hold the shafts together broke. He said he does not sell that engine anymore so he will not service it. How do you like that for good service. That is one of the reasons for me leaving GR PRO. I hope you do not require sevice on your engines, you will be out of luck.

UPDATE!!!

I WAS JUST INFORMED BY THE PREVIOUS OWNER THAT THE ENGINE i HAVE IS A SV 100-CC TWIN NOT THE HH 100CC TWIN

NOW MY QUESTION AGAIN IS WHERE CAN i GET SUPPORT? OR AM I IN THE SAME BASKET?

Different names, same lame engine. Buyer be-ware. GR PRO is a bummer. No supports.

Nope, haven't been home long enough. Ralph says it's good to go and the mfg is sending another reed to replace the original. With the numbers he reported it's at least as strong as my Brison 105 so it will go in a 35% Edge as soon as the moment arrives. Then again, by the time I get around to it there should be a new 114 sitting on the shop bench waiting to be looked at.... I can't seem to get away from engines no matter where I go[:o]

I contacted Hobbycity with the proper invoice ID to ask for the price of the rear case for my SV 100-cc engine and this was their response.

I will post a add from their web site of the engine also.

The version 2 engines is a great improvement on the previous model. Stronger crank case, better porting and overall better casting and finish make the version 2 a much stronger and more reliable gas engine.


FYI.
Photographer mounted carburettor backwards in photo. Stocked motors will have carby facing other direction.

I will never buy from a distributor like this ever again no matter how cheap or how good the product is.!!!

P.S. I truely believe in giving everyone a chance to prove that they are on the up and up even when they get bad press.

If you look at the disclaimer at the bottom of each response you will see how they state they are commited to assisting the customer?

Their assistance was to blow me off and tell me to buy my muffler elsewhere.
When was I looking for mufflers?
I need a case half for my engine not a muffler!

We already knew what the deal was and was going to be. That's why Mistydee0 ended his association with GR Pro. Misty was an importer/dealer and did not like the fact that he could not take care of his customers while selling a GR Pro product.

You can contact Mistydee0 at LS Pro engines where he now is the prime importer/distributor for the MT line of engines. Excellent support and a good product. About the best you can do with the engine you have is to chalk the GR engine you have up to experience and move forward.

Google LSPro engines. Larry never sent me his website, we just went back and forth over the phone or through personal e-mails.
