Replace the pin on DL50 piston possible?

1 Attachment(s)
I am in the process of getting a new ring in in my DL50 and found the pin is too short to prevent the ring from rotate. See the pictures attched.

My question is whether a longer pin can be put back. What is the method?

Thanks

The pin is to short even when the ring is on and compressed in the cylinder?

Those are compression pins which have a gap that expands when they are driven in. If there is enough meat to grab onto, simply compress the pin, and retract it. Replace with a longer one, but "uncompressed" diameter is what will be important to keep the new one in there.

Call Bob and DL USA, see if he has any in stock.

While you have the piston out, I'd go ahead and clean up all the flow ports, too.

I wouldn't mess with replacing the pin, just replace the piston. They don't cost that much.

Talked to Bob at DLUSA and he did not carry the pin.

Ordered the piston and the ring and have them installed. Compression comes back right away. Nice!
