DA50 LAYOUT

Hi, guys,

i have a DA50 and I'm about to install it on a plane.

I need the drawing with the screws layout in order to drill on the firewall. Do you know where can I get that?

Thanks!

Flavio

RE: DA50 LAYOUT

I'd make one from poserboard, or some other semi rigid material. You can relieve the area needed for the carb to pass, mark center lines on it, and mounting hole locations. Then lay it on the firewall and go for it. There are some PDF files floating around the web with the drawing available as well, if you do a search. Still after printing you'll need to confirm the size match before proceeding. I'd prefer to skip all that and just make something....your call though!

Don't use scaling when you print it. Also when you print it out, make sure you check the size so it matches the engine. Sometimes the printing process can alter it the size.

RE: DA50 LAYOUT

Hi, Joe,

Thank you very much.

It's quite amazing that I sent an email to Desert Aircraft and they replied saying that "I do not have a drilling pattern for the DA50. What you can do is install the standoffs to the motor and then trace the outline of them on a piece of paper.".

It seems that TBM do! (BTW, it's where I bought mine)

Thanks again!

Flavio

Yes you can make your own but it's way easier and more fun to just download one and print it out.

Glad I could help. :)

RE: DA50 LAYOUT

Joe,

Thanks again! The incredible fact is that a vendor has a pattern which the own DA doesn't...

Well, anyway, the engine is so good that DA can afford to have this louzy support... :)
