Couple of Basic Gas Engine Questions

Hi guys. I've been a 2-cycle glow guy for my entire R/C career and I want to purchase a gas engine...the TGY 52 for Hobby King. 2 quick questions....I would like to use a JR HD charge switch for the ignition, with one lead plugging into the ignition battery and the other lead into the ignition..sound ok? Also, regarding mounting the engine using standoffs, do the 1/4 20 bolts just go through the firewall with no spacers or blindnuts? Was going to use a locking washer and regular wide washer on the firewall side.

Thanks for any help you guys could provide!!!

Don't know that engine...but the switch would be just fine...

and on many other engines, yes, the bolts go through the fire wall into the stand offs.....

I have mounted my engines both with blind nuts and regular nuts it just depends on the amount of room to tighten the bolts. You can use homemade spacers (standoffs) or premade ones. Good idea about using both types of washers.

You know what they says.....wants you go gas you won't go back
