Throttle hook up on conversions

When you guys convert wacker motors, how do you hook up the throttles with the high spring tensions of most carbs? It seems like alot of tension to be on a servo all the time.

Do you get rid of the spring? Any help would be appreciated.

You leave the spring on the arm but unclip it from the stop so it doesn't apply any pressure. Leaving the spring keeps everything lined up. Simple!!:D

Hey mother, just find a lighter spring. Some hardware stores stock various springs with their nut and bolt stuff. I have a coffee jar full of springs I save from broken kids toys. You never know . . .

To install a lighter spring I believe you have to take the throttle arm off along with the throttle plate. You don't want to do that when all you have to do is unclip the spring and leave it where it is. Your choice of course. :D

I leave it on which is no problem for a standard servo. Never even a buzz from the servo.

Yeah I like the springs on there. It's a backup in case the linkage comes loose. I just move the spring stop a few degrees shorter and it's less spring tension. The servos are designed for loads, the spring is nothing compared to flight loads.
