Engine for EAM GLATAR on floats
Hi, I am flying this plane with an OS .91fx which is more than Ok. But as many of you, I am getting tired of glow fuel prices. I have read a lot in this forum and it seems to be a tough call.
Few engines have the power, but it may be too much and others may be just fine but the weight is an issue. I am considering the g20ei, rcgf 20cc, and the mld 28cc. The plane with no engine and floats, weight about 10-11 pounds. Any advise or imput would be appreciated. Thanks Morromaxx |

Lots of 26cc engine available from hobby city. Can your model(s) handle the additional weigh and vibration?

These planes all fly well using Zenoah G23's and G26 engines. All weigh in the 12 to 14 pound range. Zenoah engines will outlast most pilots if treated well. I would think that with the popularity of the G26 and larger engines, there should be some pretty good deals out there on Zenoah G23's. I'd look for a good used G23, a little heavy but a mighty fine engine.

Charley: thanks, yes the firewal has been reinforced and I hope the plane could handle the extra pound, I have to give it a try.
Antique: Thank you as well, I think I will go with mld 28cc and use the larger prop the engine can take. I am concerned about the extra weight the zenoah has. Sincerely Morromaxx |
