So we have the possibilty that we have a new Amsoil distributor? Regardless, there are a lot of oils out there better.

The problem with Amsoil is that the carbon formed is very hard and brown. It is very difficult to remove. In the UAV community where engines are run for hours, Amsoil lubed engines fail much quicker than other oils. This is especially true of the 80-100:1 mix of saber. The hobby flyer never works his engine much and so they don't notice the wear from Amsoil 100:1.

I did an oil/engine run test a few years back and if people are interested, I can repost the pictures. It shows amsoil's problems. For all of my work planes, I use Pennzoil air cooled which tested out as one of the better oils

Alternate choices would be Pennzoil Air Cooled, Bel Ray H1R and MC-1, Stihl Ultra, Redline, Motul 800, and a few others. WalMart oil at 32-1 is better than Amsoil over the long run. Moderate mix ratios are also key to obtaining the best performance out of your oil.

When **ALL** of us are dead and buried, if gas engines for RC are still in use, there will still be biased opinions based who knows what, and the debate of which is better, best, or worst, will still rage on.

I like Orville Reddenbacker Pour Over Oil Buttered popcorn the best.....

... Bob, after awhile the hydrogenated oil in the Orville Reddenbacker buttered popcorn will put a thick hard buildup in your arteries that's difficult to scrape off and can directly affect your body's manpower in the long term. That's why Ultralight pilots prefer "Smart Balance" brand popcorn!:D
