DL50 spark plug cap
ok, what is the secret to getting the spark plug cap to stay on the plug of a DL50. there is a spring inside the cap and another one that came with the plug. the top of the plug doesnt seem to go all the way into the cap. is the second spring supposed to go around the sparkplug and cap to hold it on? if so, what is the procedure? the plug that came with the engine hasnt any markings. the positive conductor on the top of the plug looks like it is too big to go all the way into the cap. it looks like it cant make contact with the high tension lead. any help out there? thanks jim

RE: DL50 spark plug cap
You just have to push the cap pretty hard. The cap will spread and go over the plug. Press firmly!

RE: DL50 spark plug cap
Do yourself a favor, toss the stock plug and get a NGK CM6. The stock ones aren't much good

I have similar doubt. What are the springs for? One being in the spark plug cap and the other came loose.

RE: DL50 spark plug cap
The spring is supposed to help stop RF interference, buy grounding the cap to the plug body. I used mine with out any problems ,you just need to push the cap on untill it snaps in place, now taking it apart is another story you will soon see why they give you a extra spring if your not very carefull it can go flying when removing the cap. I ran one tank of gas thru mine and tossed the stock plug .

RE: DL50 spark plug cap
i took all advise and really had to push to get the cap on the dl 50. since everyone thinks the stock plug is guano, and since i felt that removing the cap would make it easier to fall off after removal a few times, i got the ngk plug, hoping not to have to change it for many moons. have a 40 yr old chainsaw that i just this year changed the plug... keep a good oil/gas mix and the plugs dont foul... thanks guys
