need recommendation for optical kill switch

Can anyone recommend an optical kill switch that will operate from a free channel on my receiver?

Thanks

Use this one.

If the optic transmitter and optic receiver are not seperated by a fiber optic line, your radio's receiver it's not truly isolated from radio frequency interference weather the other kind work or not. Dan

There are a number of threads on this subject here on RCU. Having read through several I came to the same decision and went with the smart fly unit. They have worked well for me.

I use 42 percent products, Planeaddicts.com carries them and nothing against SF but these are quite a bit less expensive. I have them on 3 gassers and they have been flawless.

Same here: Smart Fly. Three years and no issues so far.

Well when it comes to accessory electronics, Smart-Fly is pretty tough to beat not only with what they offer but the CS is outstanding.

However for an optical kill switch, I prefer the ElectroDynamics unit since both pieces are contained in housings which makes 'em easier to mount/cushion without worrying about exposed circuit boards. While they are more money than some others on the market, they're about the same price as the Smart-Fly and the CS from ElectroDynamics has been excellent in my experience.

RCATS has a fiber optic kill switch (RC-100FO) but I use their simple little wired version (RC100X) since I have no RF interference issues. They offer three switches that are not expensive.
RCATS sells industrial strength equipment for UAV's, RPV's and experimental aircraft as well as a few R/C goodies.

I've been using a RCATS 100 Tx operated switch for about five years and it has been trouble free with no radio interference.
