PYLON practice day - Mulberry Florida - 06/13/09
Hello fellow pylon racers,
We are going to put up the poles and close the field to all non-pylon racers on Saturday June 13, 2009 in Mulberry Florida for a one day practice. We will run all day long starting just after sunrise and going till we wear out, crash all our toys or the bugs carry us away!!
This will be on the AMA long course and we will allow any 424, 422, 428 or FAI F3D planes to come out and play. This will be an informal practice day, so come out to test, practice or even learn what 3 pole racing is all about. There will be plenty of guys to help you.
We will be collecting a $10.00 entry fee for each pilot to cover closing the field for the day. This will be a run what you brung event, so be sure to have fuel with you. Randy and Gary will be here representing Team USA FAI and I would incourage you guys to considering donating or buying some raffle tickets to help support these guys who will represent the USA in Germany in a couple of months.
If we have enough interest in this event, we can provide concessions, or just order out pizza or something.
I want to get a feel for how many to expect and make sure it is worth closing the field, so If you think you will be able to attend, please email me ssmith4710*AOL.COM , PM me here or call me at (863) 670-5141 to let me know. Last August we had over 30, I hope we can beat that this time!!

Hey Scott, Excellent idea. I'll be there for sure. I'll bring a couple 424 planes, a couple Ninja's and maybe a couple new Neme-Q's..

Aww Phil, you know I just show up at events to show you guys how to cut Fast Times!! But you know, I could do a grudge match against you just because I had a no-go at the line in our heat in Markham Park!!

Yea Scott, It was a great fast time but next time I think you should fly 10 laps instead of just 9......
And yessiree, It is definitely time for a fly off - just you and me dawg...
I feel like I got cheated when you made up some lame excuse why you couldn't make our heat..!! LOL.."If you're scared, just say you're scared" LOL LOL
Looks like you 424 guys are gonna be stuck with me for quite a while....
I have 428 planes but now there is very little chance of getting any Nelson motors, especially for a no name peckerhead like me...
I was gonna fly at the NATS but it looks like all that has changed now....If I don't have motors, no sense going all the way there to fly a short stroke......
Oh well.....

How funny, I guess if you get you butt kicked bad enough the first excuse is it was a 9 lap time HUH! 
I wish I wouldn't have lost that plane in the next heat, I could have had a 1:36 without much more effort! I recall a few more times in the 1:35 ~ 1:38 range (10 laps) just a couple of years ago...

I will be there around 7am. I can give you the combo to the lock Randy if you think you will be there earlier! Just think about that thing that ate up your get-away sticks last year and use those numbers from your phone for the combination. 
The weather is supposed to be around 93 for a high, and lows around 75. Typical 30% chance of a passing shower possible in the mid to late afternoon. No idea of the winds, but they have been very mild for the last week here. Looks like good weather!

Help? That depends on whom you ask... We will be fine. Just an unrestricted day of pylon with no interruptions!! There are no real plans for the day, just a lot of flying and maybe a few unofficial heat races. I may run out for pizza or something if the guys want.
Remember to bring some money to help support your USA FAI Team, Randy and Gary will be happy to get some last minute donations for the world FAI race in Germany next month. This will be one of the last opportunities to help support our US team. I am sure you will be able to get raffle tickets from Randy and Gary this weekend.
