Houston Pylon Workshop

Great idea from Q500 Forum. We have reserved Scobiee Field in Houston on Saturday, August 23rd for a Pylon Racing Workshop/Clinic and go fast day. We will have the pylons set up for practice, a radar gun with display and people to help with any pylon questions or needs. Bring your buddy and have grudge race! If you just want to find out how fast your airplane is the radar setup will let you know.

There will be a small fee for entry to help us maintain the equipment.

Hope to see you there.:D

Mike,

Way to go. Having the radar gun will draw people in. These clinics need to get the same type of promotion and exposure that races get. Let me know if there is anything I can do to help. I'm thinking about adding a page on RCPRO (aka rcpylon.com) for the clinics. We could even register a name to make it real easy to get info to the newcomers. I have just checked and two very good domain names are available.

Mike,

Are you going to set up both the 2 pole and 3 pole courses?

Tim,

We can use the #1 and #2 pylons for the 2 pole course. You just change the point where you fly from. It will also give you a chance to try 3 pole.

Great job Mike! I can only hope that we can ignite a spark in the RC community that will burn brightly and inspire others to go for the gold. I know you will have a great workshop, and are a very good source of information to the newcomers. Hopefully these events will show what a great aspect of RC we enjoy.

Let me know if I can help you in any way! ;)

Great idea Mike!

It will be a good warm up for the three races coming up the next 2 months.

424 at Kingsbury Sept.13th, 424,428,422 at Texas city Sept. 21-22 and 424 at Georgetown Oct.11th

I think several of the SA / Austin boys will be there.

It would be well worth the trip just to hear an old FORMULA 1 roar around the course...(if anyone still has one left!) If Jerry/Dub/Mike use their RADAR SPEED TRAP. everyone will be able to observe the speeds of ALL the airplanes from the LED display that is visible from the pilot's stations and spectator areas. No more guessing as to "just how fast" your airplane is.

It should be a very enjoyable time for everyone!
