Nice work as usual Hannes.
My maiden was a little surprising in that the GeeBee doesn't turn the way most other planes do. Not a yank and banker. Roll it over for a tight turn and it wants to go straight on a knife edge. The rudder gyro (demon cortex) kept it straight with no input needed on take-off or landing.
Wind came up and it was a blow-out before I could get a second flight in. Can't wait to fly it again. The only issue right now is too small of a fuel tank (32 oz). Almost empty when it landed.

I saw you were at fantasy of flight in K. W's R-2. Give you any inspiration for your 50%?

The dummy motor is awesome.
I am getting seriously interested in building a CARF R2 after reading both Hammes' articles in RC Scale magazine.
Did CARF incorporate the symmetric rudder in V2? Their web site indicated its non-symmetrical, but perhaps it's not fully updated. Hammes' article indicated the airplane flies better with the symmetrical rudder.

I love the sound of a Moki but a DA 150 seems like a more practical choice for power. Are folks satisfied with the power from a 150 in the R2?

Thanks Yes, on the V2 the fin is symmetrical. My opinion? Go with the DA 150 first, if you like the plane and you got some practice go with the MOKI.

Mark,
That would be awesome. What day and time do you plan to be there? I generally go Saturday and Sunday afternoons.

I've been a regular since 2011 so I'm sure I'll recognize you. I set up on the east end where the giant scale IMAC guys hang out. It'll be funny If we know each other.
Most recently I've been flying a large white Waco.
