400cc Moki?

If so, can you post a video of it flying unmuffled? I LOVE the sound of big radials!

420 Valach would be my choice yet it seems they are impossible to get, same as the 800's which I was trying to get for a big Corsair.

Hi Hannes. Your work-arounds on the Carf GB just get better and better. Wish I'd built mine now!
I can't wait to see how you handle the rudder "CUP" on your 50%. Most difficult part of the build? I think it was on the Wolfe version.

I'd say that CARF does the first 90% of the work, and you do the other 90% of the work to finish it!
I also used the front two tank tray bolts to bring the total up to 8 on mine.

hello everybody
iīm just about to rebuild a never flown v1 gee bee,and have some question.
first of all I think I read all thread and couldnīt find control surface deflections.would you share?
secondly i have 2 motors options, old and heavy 3w 150 qs red cyl or dle 111.what would you use?
i think iīll cut offset fin and make a straight one and modify landing gear to make it longer
thanks in advance

I suggest the old and heavy 3W150. The DLE 111 is plenty of power, but will present balance problems unless you do your rebuild with that in mind and move everything forward.
The 3W will also spin a more scale sized prop.
Control deflections ARE in the construction manual, but are not critical.
Go for minimal deflections initially. Set up dual rates on the Tx.

I fly mine with a DLE 111. It’s requiring a steelplate for proper balancing. Power is great though.

You are correct.
I also just downloaded the manual and for some unexplainable reason, they have OMITTED page 31 and instead, repeated page 5 ?
I have offered to re-write the manual several times, but again (for some unexplainable reason), Andreas says NO.
For what they charge for this kit now, seems to me an accurate, complete, updated manual is the least they should do!

Here is the page they deleted from the manual I wrote.
