Default Lanier Cap 232 1.5

Looking to see if anyone out there is familar with the Lanier Cap 232 1.5 kit. I picked up the kit this last year and was thinking about putting it together. Looking for pro's, con's, engines used, flight performance and so on.

There have been a couple of older threads on this planecheck the RCU archives. Couple of things for you to consider: (1) the plane tends to build tail heavy-use contest grade balsa on the tail, move the elevator and rudder servo's to the hatch area, don't sheet the bottom of the fuse aft of the wing; (2) the "plan CG" is too far aft for most pilotsI'd suggest you set your initial CG at least 1" forward of the wing tube; (3) you can put lots of lightening holes in all the fuse formers (to keep weight down) w/out compromising the strength of the airframe; and lastly (4) the plane needs a good 50cc engine-DA, BME, etc... . Good luck,...WarpedWing

Thanks for the reply. I will check out those threads. Flying season is right around the corner so building will take a back seat for now.
