Default Comp-ARF Extra 330 Spinner

Does anybody have a photo of their Comp-ARF Extra 330 fitted with a 5" or 4.5" spinner??

From what I've read, a 5" spinner means you don't have to raise the engine up the firewall but the spinner looks a bit odd on the plane.

So, anyone got any pics so I can decide which size looks better?!

Thanks

Look in some of the existing threads on this plane. There are pics of planes with different size spinners there.

The Plane looks just fine with the 5 inch spinner. That is what the cowl was designed around, I think the 4 1/2 inch spinner looks odd on the plane IMHO.

Default Comp-ARF Extra 330 Spinner

Hi,

This is my 2 bob's worth, I'm presently using a 4.5" True turn spinner. I tried a 5" but thought it looked goofy, The picture attached shows my original Fiberclassic with the engine mounted in the suggested position. I have since built an other model (Composite-Arf) but mounted the engine a little higher. Personal preferance I suppose.

Default 5"vs 4.5"

What this really should boil down to is are you more worried about looks or flight performance.................
I have had 3 2.6's so far and have tried both spinners and engine locations. The last plane I had ,I installed the engine in the recommended spot with the 5" spinner . It had less rudder-induced pitch due to the engine thrust line being closer to inline with the stab............. The Best flying planes at contests this year all had the engine in the lower positon....They require less pitch couple correction in your radio thus being better all around flying planes.
When all else fails: Follow the Directions!!!!!

Me too,
I bought the ZN 5" and mounted the engine in the stock location. I think it looks perfect. I'll snap a pic tonight for ya. FWIW I think this is the intended spinner to be used with this plane.

Default Here is mine.....

...with a 5" bullet shaped pete model cf spinner. I should've gone with the ultimate shape cause the bullet looks fat but once the model is airborne the spinner is the last thing I pay attention to.
