I have an opportunity to aquire some Goldwing parts for several different size & model aircraft. We can get cowls, canopys, wing sets, horizontal & vertical surfaces, CF landing gear, CF tail wheel sets, Fuselages, etc.
I have not pulled the trigger on these parts as I am not quite sure if there is a demand and I don't want to end up with a bunch of inventory that isn't popular and I cannot move.
What do you guys think? I keep hearing Goldwing does not support it products, what if a little guy like us had replacement parts available? Is there a demand?

Taz Hobbies,
I, for one would be in your court. I lost my Goldwing Raven on its maiden flight. The CG given in the assembly manual was 'way off and caused a nose heavy condition.
The wings and tail section survied, but the fuselage was toast and not rebuilt-able. A replacement fuse would put the Raven back in the air.
Cheers,

Currently it looks like I can get my hands on the following Goldwing Parts:
.61 -.91 - V3 parts for: 60" Sbach342 Red/White/Black (color scheme A), 60" Sbach 342 Orange/Blue (color scheme B)
30cc - V3 parts for: 73" MX2 Green Machine (color scheme A), 73" MX2 Red "Fagen" (color scheme B), 75" Edge 540 Red/White (color scheme B), 73" Extra 300LP Red/Yellow (color scheme A)
50cc - V3 parts for: 71" Pitts Python Yellow/Black (color scheme B), 71" Pitts Pythin Black/Red (color scheme C), 88" Yak 55SP Red/Yellow/black (color scheme C), 88" Yak 55SP Red/Yellow (color scheme D)
50cc - V1 parts for: 71" Ultimate Red/Yellow (color scheme C)
100cc - V3 parts for: 107" Sukhoi SU26M Red "Honda" (color scheme C)
Now keep in mind, these are going to be in limited quantities/availability and will be considered special order. I am not going to bring any inventory in unless we have a pre-paid invoice for the parts. I'd like to have 10 of everything in stock, but we just are not capable of doing so.
I will let you know which other Goldwing models I can get parts for.

Even if you could broker a drop shipping arrangement of some sort,, that would help guys out.
Kudos to you for making the effort to help the gold wing owners out,

I am trying to work out the logistics. Just have a couple of obstacles to overcome. My gut tells me to just buy the whole warehouse, but if I got stuck with all of that and tied up that much capital, that may end up being very dangerous for us in this economy.
You guys keep the word out there and lets see what we can do. If someobody needs some parts, speak up, let me know. We will get it coming in small quantities to start with.

Taz,
You are about 6months too late for me...needed a pair of wings for my 50cc Goldwing Sbach 342 V3 and after the hassle I had to go through with not being able to find any parts I would never buy Goldwing again it truly is not worth the hassle. Rather just go to Pilot-RC, they have the parts for their planes.
But it sounds like you have a one time deal on parts in a warehouse and not a steady supply of parts.
I will keep you in mind if I ever need any Goldwing parts though.
Do you know the reason why Goldwing does not supply parts?

As far as steady supply, I think we are in a position to actually acomplish that, this opportunity would just be the ability to jump start that plan with some much needed inventory.
I am not going to lie, I am just very hesitant to pull the trigger. The E-Commerce world is hurting for the most part right now. We are down a whopping 22% since last month alone and we have had more consecutive days that were so bad we had to go back over 3 years to see when the last time was we barely earned gas money for a 24 hour period.

Taz,
I really hope it works out for you and you can have a steady supply of parts, this hobby needs it for the Goldwing customers. I may consider going back to Goldwing but will need to see that it's not a one time parts deal only.

But for my personal Green Machine 25% / 73" Span MX2, pricing on parts will look something like this, keep in mind these numbers are free shipping within the continental USA,Alaska, Hawaii, PR will be higher.
Again, these are just prelinimary numbers for cost calculating purposes. These could be higher or lower when finally set. How do you think these numbers look. I know Kerwin purchased a fuse, but I cannot recall what he paid.
Goldwing 25% MX2 Right Wing Panel $150.00
Goldwing 25% MX2 Left Wing Panel $150.00
Goldwing 25% MX2 Carbon Wing Tube $15.00
Goldwing 25% MX2 Vertical Fin $25.00
Goldwing 25% MX2 Rudder $15.00
Goldwing 25% MX2 Horizontal Tail $25.00
Goldwing 25% MX2 Elevator $15.00
Goldwing 25% MX2 Carbon Landing Gear $35.00
Goldwing 25% MX2 Wheel Pants $10.00
Goldwing 25% MX2 Wheels, Axles Hardware $10.00
Goldwing 25% MX2 Fuselage $175.00
Goldwing 25% MX2 Canopy $45.00
Goldwing 25% MX2 Fiberglas Cowl $45.00
Goldwing 25% MX2 Carbon Tail Wheel Set $20.00
Goldwing 25% MX2 Fuel Tank $10.00

Taz,
The pricing sturture looks good for the initial cut.
Now all you have to do is find me a fuselage for the 50cc Goldwing Raven. The airplane is well built and finished nicely and would fly great with the correct instructions to back up its performance.
Cheers,

Best of luck with your endeavours on the Goldwing parts supply. If you're the only one supplying and the word gets out, it could be worth it I think.
I have a Goldwing 30% MX2 (Fagen shceme) and it's my favortite 50cc plane at the moment. I would buy new parts for it in a heartbeat if I were to ding it up in the future.
I've had no problems with Goldwing so far. They arecheap, but seem to have a fairly good track record. That is what attracted me. The ARFs are light and I've hammered mine pretty hard for a 100 flights now with no ill effects yet.

I'd buy a cowl for my green MX 30ccer.
I think once the word was out that parts were available you'd have no problem selling them.

This will be a slow process. I just cannot afford to wrap that much money into a whole container of Goldwing inventory.
I just received some 30cc MX2 GreenMachines parts today. I have to finalize pricing because of additional postage & packaging. But I have a brand new cowl here for you. No sweat. Give me until Saturday to get the pricing finalized.

Well guys, I am sorry to say it, but it looks like this idea isn't going to pan out. Somebody went in and purchased the entire container of Goldwing parts I was working the deal on. I just don't have the ability financially to spend $50,000 on airplane parts at this point.
I tried guys, sorry.

Sorry that did not work out for you and the Goldwing owners. That is abit of coin to lay out for a situation that may or may not pan out.
Do you have a contact email of the buyer of the parts? I do need to pursue any and all sources for a replacement fuselage or my 50cc Goldwing Raven.
Cheers,

thats probably a good thing for you.in this economy for anyone to take on that much in inventory on a company that won't supply dealers with parts is taking a chance.guy's don't want to buy anything that they can't get parts for,and don't.
i for one say let the GW line of planes die.

Not sure if I can get my hands on Raven parts (50cc I am guessing?), I'll check on Monday.
