Alright here are the pics. This is where I have gotten to. I am ready to glue the top rear turtle deck on, and also glue the stringers to the bottom of the fuse. So far it has been a very easy build. I was pretty worried about keeping everything straight and in alignment, but it all cam together very well. I guess I will be using gorrilla glue for all the foam parts. Any thoughts on this?

Holes, holes, and more holes! this airplane is "filled" with lightning holes. The airframe really beacme stiff with the addition of the tristock in the corners, and the cross bracing in the tail. I also plan on putting some hardwood tristock around the laning gear plate to help keep the gear in. as far as I can tell, the stock position for the firewall is going to work, for using the bme 102. I may have to make some very small shims would be all.

Cap....

Mine is on hold while I get the Giles ready. I've looked this 31 % over pretty good. I do not see how I will fit this mufler in. I could just use my pitts muffler, but it is loud.

I may have to go another route.

I could go with a split carbon gear, and run the can through that area, half exposed, or go to a smaller can.

Side note, I received my Wild Hare Giles and it looks real good.

Anyone know the web address for TNT gear? By measuring mine, and looking at Sam's pics I really think I want to upgrade to taller gear. I have never been fond of lowriders anyway!

TNT landing Gear
http://www.tntlandinggear.com/
Check out thier control surface gauges also, i got the 3-D and its pretty nice.
Bryan, Yes! you will have to shim out the engine mount 7/16" for rhe BME. Just use the bell mount as your pattern and you have it. Cut the center out aslo, save on weight!
Gorilla Glue! You must have a very deep money pocket!!!! Use Titebond polyurathane, its well half the cost of the same size bottle. Do you already have a scheme picked for it?? I would like to start covering mine asap so im working with blank three views and my daughters colored pencils. I also noticed that you have the 3 servo doubler for the rudder, I used hard wood for the mounting since my 5735 took up two of the cut outs.
Coming along fine Bryan, keep us posted.
Sam

As to the instrument panels, they are the same brand that TNT carries but I actually got mine from Mike Clemmons off of EBay. He's the one that sells MSC Props. A 26-10 for the BME! http://www.mscprops.com/
He must of lost a plane and these were the panels from it. I think they look really great and they are truely 3D, not a flat picture of one.

Hey pugs, you're going to be disappointed if you expect the CA to not 3D as well as the cap.. In many respects they 3D better.

Sam did you have to cut releifs in the cowl for the spark plugs to clear?

I haven't mounted the cowl yet but if you measure the width of the engine with plugs and then the cowl, there is plenty of room without cutting extra holes.

Hey Danny...

I expect the Extra to 3D well....I am hoping that the Giles doesn't....well I plan on setting it up pretty tame any way. Hopefully by setting it up for sequence only, I can practice more. Time will tell.

Capthis...

It is listed for sale. I have a real sweet heart of a deal on a 2.6 CA Extra with DA 100.....

If I don't sell it, I will buiold it and just use my Peacekeeper muffler, or get a smaller can.

After watching the video of the 31 % with the ZDZ 80 on it I know for sure now that this will be a killer combo.

Todd I noticed that you are located in Fowler. You will have to come fly with the FBI boys sometime. We fly some in Jacksonville. which is about half way for you and me. Gotta Love them CA's.

Todd, sweet looking plane! Is there anyway for you to get with someone that has an accurate scale and find out what that thing really weighs? I read in another thread where you weighed it on the bathroom scales. Those things just aren't accurate enough to get a good idea of the weight. I have no doubt that your airplane is light with the zdz, and no pilot and such, but there is no way it can be 21.5 pounds. Don't take this wrong I would just like to see what it really weighs so I can get an idea for what mine should weigh.

What's your setup? Servos, batteries, etc....

Todd:
Find a fisherman with a Berkley digital fish scale. Mine weighs 3-4 ounces heavier than "real" weight in the range of 25 lbs. If you decide to go to any of the IMAC contests in the NC region, I'll be glad to weigh your plane.

FWIW, me CA 31% witha a ZDZ 80 and inverted pitts weighed 20 lbs, 14 oz, and I added no other bracing and I don't build heavy, so 21.5 lbs on the 34% is probably not real accurate...oh yeah, weighed mine on a $400 precision scale, so I know it's an accurate weight.......
