YAK-54 ARF
[img][/img]
Hi all;
Does anyone has any experiance with this plane?
It's Chinese made, and marketed under AJ or JET or GSP brand names.
I found the quality of the ARF to be very high, and thing of matching it with my Saito FA-150.
Comments will be appreciated

RE: YAK-54 ARF
Well Johnathan, I took it from my local dealer - here in Israel. It's supposed to be relatively new. In Israel it's marketed under the same brand-name as the Katana 140 sold in the US by GPS.
I'm pretty sure I'll buy it but wanted to get some reassurance

RE: YAK-54 ARF
Shalom Yaron,
I got the picture too from Galaxia.
The Extreme Flight RC yak 68' is better for sure but it's really expensive to ship one to israel.
i asked about the new yak in ARF/RTF forum.

Hi Roei;
Had any luck yet with that question?
I have the same feeling as you - regarding the quality of the YAK, but I think the one Galaxia is getting supposed to be pretty good as well

RE: YAK-54 ARF
Yaron,
As you can in my thread, the extreme flight yak dominant there too.
The new Yak 54 is just like the 140 Katana, you can't compare it to the big Funtana or DPM but it's great for smaller budget who want big model.
It should be a great combo with Saito 150 and for the appearance, a slinline pitts muffler side one or inverted (depend how you mount the engine) will be great looking for that (and sound...)

RE: YAK-54 ARF
The Extreme Flight planes fly very good I saw them at the Joe Nall but they're overpriced IMO I know these are good quality Kits but 650 still too much for a 50 cc class aircraft, I'd rather spend a litle more for a 100cc aircraft.
And These planes were supposed to be available on last sept.???
just my opinion, but they look good.
epc.

RE: YAK-54 ARF
They sure do.
The kit I referred to at the beginning of this thread in not sold by Extreme Flight but under the brand names AJ / GPS / Jet, and is very reasonably priced for app. 300 $
I started the thread by asking if anyone had any experience with this brand of YAK-54

RE: YAK-54 ARF
After re-reading your first thread I guess I jump to a conclusion about you looking at a YAK, not thinking you wanted info on just that YAK.
Sorry.
I too am curious about this (your) plane.

RE: YAK-54 ARF
Nothing to be sorry about.
I'm quite sure I'll buy myself that ("Mine") Yak once it's on the shelf (3 weeks from now). I intend to equip it with my new Saito FA-150 for power, and hope it'll be able to maneuver as close as possible to the amazing mpeg by Extreme Flight.

That Yak54 is sweet!!!I will get me one of those for sure as soon as they come out!!GSP-giantscaleplanes usually puts the new planes out rather quicky & I am sure the Yak will be priced right .I was thinking the Extreme Yak but I am not looking to sink $500+ into one.I too have a Saito150 with only 2 tanks thru it looking for a new home since my 80" pilatus PC9 took a riveting plunge deep nto the woods on final today-battery pak dumped!
That plane flew great too,was only the 3rd flight-mannnn,but I have always loved Yak54's & that color scheme looks awesome-very unique!!!

RE: YAK-54 ARF
As for EXTREME R/C, I have e-mailed them at least 5 times to get info on the Mini 3D and still no responce!!![:@] They never responded to my e-mails about the Yak either.[:@] So I am going to stay clear of them till they prove themselfs. They were going to supply a bunch of ARF planes, then nothing, not it's the Mini 3D and it feels the same to me. I hope he gets his company going cause his products look great. Maybe it will all work out.

RE: YAK-54 ARF
I would be extremely reluctant to buy a YAK54 from an offshore source without checking it's specs with ExtremeFlight first. ExtremeFlight rejected a model run of several hundred of these planes because they did not meet ExtremeFlights quality standards, I have been told by them. That is supposedly why they are still waiting for planes to come in from their new manufacturer. All those planes had to go someplace.

I saw the mini flying at our field New Years Day. What a hoot!!! The plane had an OS 15RX on it and was doing everything the guys could throw at it...What a great value at under $100........
