Thanks for the info on the props.
Man, I hate to see that plane crashed! Well, how does the inside construction of the wings look? What are you going to do with the remains?
I haven't even began assembley of mine yet, so I am really nervous now.

This prop is sweet, quiet, and has good performance. The first flight my girl was pulling vertical on 1/3 throttle and that was only the 3rd tank on the DA. I will get another.

GotShocked,
What can I say... I got shocked when I saw that! Major bummer all around... Keep the faith and I hope you are the first to get one from the next boat.
I already have a backup coming too.

Birddog, none in stock for a couple months.
Got shocked, Truly sorry for your loss. Someone had to be the first to lose one I always figured it would be me. I still stand a chance of being the first to dumb thumb one.[&:]

Six weeks Birddog. Get your name down quick though, since these boys had there fly in Chris's phone has not stopped ringing.
Man I am truely gutted to see your Yak, pictures like that need a guidance rating. Good on you for being so up beat about it, i am sure you'll be sorted ASAP. No engine damage or anything like that to ad to the grief?

I'm going to send engine and receiver in for check outs just to make sure, but they look great. It wasn't a strait in crash but the prop did take a hit.
Thanks for everyones support.

Get shocked, what a bummer dude. But your attitude is great, fall off the bike get back on it.
I got mine standing on its gear. I am about to install the rudder servo, just wondering if I should stay with a Hitec 5735 or go with the high torque standard like an 8611. I am planning on running a pipe, and I have heard that W&B is rearward with the pipe. If I run a 5735 that is putting another 2.5 ounces 12" behind the wing tube to add to the problem. Anybody got this setup flying? Where are your parts located?
TIA,
Jeff Williams

RE: Extreme Flight 87" Yak 54 - Build & Fly
I just started on the YAK and I am at the part where you cut the covering for the wing to fit into the recessed part of the fuse. I put the wing tube in to check the fit and alignment and found out the wing and stab tube are not parallel to one another. Has anyone checked and found this problem?[>:]
I checked with 3 friends of mine that have this plane. We got together and compared planes. They all have the same problems and the vertical fin is not centered in the turtle deck

Ok I seem to be the only one to be installing the MTW 75 front stinger Canister from DA.
It sorta fits , as in 1/16'' clearance from top to bottom @ the gear block with the question mark header from DA .
Also it does not line up verticaly by 1/2 the diamiter of the header pipe, so I did a mod to the header pipe by
cutting and welding in an offset.
This lined it all up but I still have no air space @ the tunnel top and the gear block.
Just how little is too little clearance for the can in the tunnel?
Thanks
Den

RE: Extreme Flight 87" Yak 54 - Build & Fly
GotShocked, I feel your pain, bro. I whacked a 68" Ef Yak a month ago and it has sent me on a spiral out the hobby. I have crashed 3 Yak...2 68" EF's and a A KMP Yak-54 87" in one month.
Today I trashed A Wild Hare edge 540T and it never made it off the ground. I stomped it to death after a bad "runaway" accident ...thank God for Safety fences. I will never fly at a field without them ever again.
So , I am feeling down too, I put an EF 87" Yak on the marketplace, and promised the other to a very close friend. I am taking a long break, and I mean it this time. I will get the flying fix from my GWS Foamies when I need it.
If it helps, I did take my whacked KMP Yak with the same damage as yours, and CA'd it straight., bit by bit. And then reworked it to make it strong , it will fly again, when I am ready. If you got all the bits and can reference it up straight it's possible. THen you could have a battle scarred , Practice Yak.....
I will fly one of the EF 87's down the road, just not right now.
I am going to look at the one I unboxed and check it to see of it is true. I can't believe for a minute that these things could be out of shape.

Damn Guys
I hate to hear everybody's crack's and dings and things from shipping, and really I hate the crash, But the good thing from this is you guys had the balls to talk about it, alot of you pilots wouldn't have spoken up, CAUSE THE PRIDE gets in the way, You know who you are, We all know who you are,,, But seriously I am sure this is the first off many crashes to come( I hope not) but this cant be avoided, But as many Yak's that are going to be flying in the next few months, I'm sure we will find out more about this bird which will help all, So lets all keep hope alive, thank ya thank ya very much

I just checked mine and it looks fine, not able to see any mis-alignment on mine. Fin looks fine as well.
Sorry to see that yours is not right. How hard would it be to fix?

Well, I know of three that are like that right now. Even I fix the stab tube the fin would be off then.
What do you do, I like the plane but I know I would not like the way it would fly with the problem it has. This is $$$$$ down the drain.
