I know this is gonna sound sacrilegious, but there's always TOC1...
Of course you'd have to strip off that butt-ugly covering job they put on them...
Just kidding Wayne...

Hello,
Still waiting to hear from anyone who has fitted a MTW 75 cannister to this plane.
It's one I bought to fit into a Double Vision, then got the Yak instead. Can I use it or not?

EDIT: I found it on page 171, start reading at post 4252, and then a few posts later are the numbers. [link=http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_2408226/mpage_171/key_/tm.htm]Page 171, I wish we could search within a thread[/link]

You're welcome. Does anyone know if there is still a plan for a 40%er? Back in the early days Chris had an Extra 42% but that floundered, and if the Yak did 40% that would be sweet!
#5658

42%-40% is a bit large for that model - 37% about right ----------
Fly a really big model - most of them are underpowered .
It takes a 210 to pull them with real muscle .
Have yet to see one "overpowered " .

Dick,
I have a 210 with KS1090s on it in my Yak now, but would also like to plan for the future with an EF Yak. I agree with power!
P.S. I love the avatar!

I would sell all my airplanes and get into RC Sailboats before I would buy a TOC1 plane.

Now now - let's not get carried away!
The basic design is good -and it is low priced and with a little WORK it would be fine .
Your own feelings about the mfg and the ethics involved - are shared -but that's all history.
Life moves on ---

I am not that way.
They have enough of Chris's money. They are not going to get any of mine.

Just yanking your chain Wayne... I know you'd never buy a TOC1 plane...
Hopefully we'll hear from Chris soon on the next batch...

Maudib: I have just started to read through this thread I am very interested in getting a YAK for my next gassser.
I have a BME 50 sitting around for it and I am wondering how you like this arf as far putting the kit together, how much it actually
it weighs, and finally how good it flys,( I'm getting into the 3-D stuff)
P.S. Did you start the PW thread?
regards 3-D hooligan

I will answer for him. It is the best YAK out there for its size. It is the lightest Yak out there, and has the very best customer support. Unfortunately, Chris is getting what seems to be the runaround from his mfr. source and no one seems to know when they will be available again.
It has some minor issues like all other ARF's do, but the design and supplied hardware more than makes up for it.
As for weight, mine came in at 15 pounds even, but it is probably around 15.25 now, after switching to TNT landing gear. The stock ones are fine for consistantly normal landings, but that is not guranteed at any time where I fly- high altitude and very turbulant.

Hi all
I have just purchased a 87" Yak from the New Zealand distributor ([link=http://www.Aerobaticarf.com]Aerobatic-ARF[/link])
As far as I know its not a reject thats being sold off cheap like some other companys.
As it came from the same batch as your yaks, it is of the same high quality. The only difference is there are no EF stickers and no wing and fuse bags. the bags are not available for quite a while and I would like to know what shape the fuse bag is so I can make my own??(I only have small pictures which are no help).

Wayne,
It may interest you to know that there is a video of you flying the Yak linked from the website in Wildstyle's post. Amazing how much New Zealand looks like Georgia.
