We had 17-18 mph wind here in Chicago today, I had mine at the field. Too windy for me, this is a very lightly wing loaded plane, and yep, she gets blown around, so it was just show and tell.

A friend with an 18 lb AW QB Yak had no problem with the windy conditons.

I prefer the light one, cus on those no wind evenings, IT ROCKS>.................

I just gotta look at the sock before I go to the field.

Why in the hell didn't you come down on Saturday to Bloomington? There were three of them there......

I had to setup a Fun Fly for Sunday "Trainer Olympics", at my field. Saturday in Bloomington would have wiped me out.

If there wasn;t anything else on the sched, I would have been there. Sooner or later , I will get down there to fly with you guys.

Romanrc, I know what you mean. I have been flying mine since April 05 and it is still just as sweet. This thing is a 3D machine.

Darn..I was hoping he had some parts in case I had a mishap[X(]

Since the QQ Yak was made in the same place as the EF's, I bet their canopy will fit..

I flew mine yesterday ...5mph winds in Chicago ...a rarity this time of year.

If and I say IF I had to only have one plane ...this would be it. I would just add 2 lbs to it for the windy days...

Mine came in at 15lbs 8oz. I checked twice on two scales. With 29lbs 10oz of thrust .....23x8 running 6930rpm rich. It is the benchmark of ALL 3D planes. IMO. How many other gassers have 1.95:1 thrust to weight ratio?? It is just inexplicable until you have flown it. I get mesmerized everytime I fly it.

AND.....I bet I could lose ANOTHER 6 oz..if I was really inclined to do so.

My favorite thing to do is a nice slow high alpha KE pass!! SWEET! No coupling and it will hold a straight line at under 1/2 throttle with the nose at 45deg as long as I want..

My Takeoff....Vertical after initial climb ....to hover , WOT tumble exit upright to hover, HA KE Right to edge of field, fullright rudder over and spin to deck , low pass over strip.....A full box.

It flies like the shockflyer. Really.

What I am really waitng for is the NEW 50cc EF plane.......it will top this one. Bet on it.

I couldn't give you measurements , I just do them on low aileron rate, high Elevator.

Wayne, is the one to ask that question, he is the master of low rollers.

My EF 87 is collecting dust , we have had high winds for a week and half. so I am flying the Piggies (heavy Yak and others).

I am flying a new Biplane, ....A SigSunDancer 16lbs 9oz 1750sq in area.

Da-50 and smoke.

I couldn;t wait to see if EF was putting out a Pitts 12 or not. And I wanted a biplane. So , I built this up last week. Maiden Yesterday.

Here is a two page thread.
