Wayne, is the one to ask that question, he is the master of low rollers.

I just have it set up on a mix.

For your 3D throws if you use the correct servo arm length and 140% ATV +/- you'll be right where you should be for throws.

Wayne,
Is the new 50cc a Yak?
Will EF have available a 50cc Yak & 100 cc Yak in the near future?

Just sold an Aeroworks 87" Yak, there is no comparision! The Original EF 87" Yak is still the one!
Have a DA 50 and servos ready for the next EF project.
Please give me some hope.

The new 50cc is not a Yak.
There will be another EF Yak in the future but that will be after other EF planes are released.

Its coming soon guys. Hang tight.

Wayne, "soon" is a relative term, can you give us some parameters?

I really cant.
The minute we post a "time frame" EF will be held to that to the T.
Example,
If we say, a few months people will take that as three months. When its three months and a day, we will get blasted for not having them here.

The best approach is to have them just show up.

Wayne,
Have you flown the new EF 50cc?
If so how does it fly compared to the Original EF 87" Yak?

100 cc Yak?

The addicted wait...and drool....and dream.

Yup, post a date...whiners ensue. Agreed.

It's OK...I can see my EF 87 right from this chair....ahhh....

JDs...sold an AW Yak 87??? good choice...it is a dookie for sure. I watch two self destruct. 18lber for almost 600 bucks....falls apart on a hard landing....wings come off in flight....axles break,...great bargain....pity the person (read chump) who bought it. I lost 2 flying partners this year because of that plane. CAVEAT EMPTOR.

In my opinion AW makes the worst ARF's in the business. I had two 33% edges from AW and it looked like a child put them together, and a retarded child at that. Just sold one a couple weeks ago. I got less than 1/2 of what I had into it, and I was happy as heck. Absolute trash.

The proof was in the flying! Same setup DA 50, JR 8611....

Hands down winner was EF 87" Yak....AW was sold after 30 flights...$100 test too prove that EF is #1.

Thanks Chris, patiently waiting on the boat.

This of course is my personal opinion.

OK well I am still working on my 87" EF Yak and am trying to put a MTW75 Cannister in the tunnel. Seems to touch all four walls...... Not a good thing.

275 pages.. I am not going to search through all that stuff. Has anyone successfully put one of these cans in this airplane. If so HELP!

Scale Rules,
The MTW 75 will fit in O.k, even if it is a bit of a squeeze and doesn't look like it will fit at first.
The cannister almost totally fills the space where the undercarriage plate crosses the tunnel.
I did think that there might not be enough airflow going past the pipe for cooling, but it all works great in practice.
I agree that looking at all those pages is a pain. If you need any details on retaining the pipe let me know.
My only problem with the plane is that the ailerons were slightly warped and still are, as even though I have twised them straight, the twists keep coming back.
My engine firewall is not the best quality and after about 10 flights needs cutting out and a harder wood one needs to be fitted ( big pain now that the plane is all finished). I tightened up the bolts to the rear of the standoffs with large washers behind the boltlheads however the firewall is that soft that the standoffs pull into the firewall during tightening up. Then engine running causing the engine to start to come loose. Tighten the bolts a bit more and the standoffs start to be pulled into the firwall. Big bad viscious circle, which will only end when the standoff and washer are touching. Please dont email to tell me that I have been over tightening the bolts as that is not the case.
Advise is to check your firwall and change it if the quality is suspect.
My lower cowl mounting block pulled out second flight, no glue appeared to be on it!
Still, does fly very, very, well.

Rodders,

Any pics you can send me on the mounting of the MTW can would be appreciated very much.

Thanx for the headsup on the firewall. I thought it looked a little lite. I have a carbon fibre plate I will try and epoxy onto the outside face, where standoffs mount against, and hopefully that will help.

I'll have to check my ailerons to as they bind when I apply upward deflection and not when deflected down. I think the outboard hinge on each aileron is off centre and causing this. May have to rplace hinge with new ones.[&o][&o]

I have a MTW 75 in mine. If memory serves it is the TD version of that canister and it fits w/o touching any tunnel walls. I did a section on here about it, but I cannot remember what pages. I can repost pictures if needed but since it is already installed, I doubt they will be real detailed pics. Also, to all of you using the Hobby Lobby hatch latch, I broke mine on the metal holding pin. I would have thought that it would of broke at the mount or the plastic housing, nope it broke the metal retention pin in half, much to my surprise. Luckily my hatch is very fixable and as soon as the material arrives I will have it back in the air.

Jeff,

Found your posts on mounting the MTW Cannister back around page 164 I think.

Copied everything into a word document.

Now you are going to have to tell me about the cowl ring thing you did. that looks pretty neat. Is the plywood ring epoxied to the cowl or silicone or something?

What about tank placement? From all the pics i see posted everyone has put there tank well ahead of the CG. anyone mounted the tank down in the tunnel to get it over the CG or perhaps sitting above the wing tube?

Thanx for all the help... it's getting closer to being finished. I am a slow builder/assembler.

Tom Denney @ Valleyviewrc.com has spare parts for the KMP 87" Yak. I just bought a canopy & hatch from him, it is a perfect fit. I also bought a cowl & it fits perfect, although you will have to repaint it. I am building another EF 87" Yak & it will have a KMP Yak cowl & canopy. When I finish it no one will be able to tell the difference. It is worth it to get another one of these in the air. It is, absolutely, the best flying 50cc plane out there. I have torn the belly out of my present Yak 3 times. It is flying again, & still weighs just 15 lbs 6 oz. Yes, I love my Yak.

Yes, I have about the last EF 87" Yak the was sold. New in box - mint! I purchased one flying, and I can only fly one at a time! I would part with the entire untouched, unstarted package deal for $750. Just email me or call 903-278-5384 and I will get it on the way to you.

Not really.
I just get it close enough to make to make up for your photography errors.
