In case Chris is swamped with filling orders. Does anyone know what the status is on availablity of the Yak. If they are sold out, when more are coming. I just got a hold of a used
ZDZ50 from a friend, and was looking for a new home for it. I have quickly scaned some of the replys and pictures, this thing sure looks like the hottest thing since sliced bread. I have a email in to Chris, but I thought I would check here as well

Thanks Rick

I put my name on the list on the 15th of this month and was lucky enough to get one. However, I would be surprized if they are not all sold out by now. There were a few Yaks in plain white that I don't believe people were aware of, so some of those might still be available. If you didn't make th cut this order, Chris said about another 2 months before more are available...although I have not gotten my hands on mine yet, it seems to be worth the wait!

My wife just came into my room and saw my new Yak sitting here.... she said.. "this is it huh? well smaller than I thought....not much bigger than your yellow thingie (funtana 90) I thought they were huge"
then I said... " sweet! that means I can get a bigger plane "
Well anyways... here is my progress... waiting for the second package...

Same here. I don't mind registering but the link's no good.

Hey Wayne, which Yak is that red one! Hard to tell if it is a custom covering job on an 87" or is that the 100" prototype???? Looks awesome, either way, but I would like to see a bigger pic!

Ok... So people are able to view the pics. Thats good.
The register link isnt needed. The pics are in a gallery viewable to the public.

Bodyworks,
100cc Prototype.
And to answer the next question...... Chris isnt sure when.

I like that simple stand you made up. I made one out of a collapsable sawhorse specifically for this plane. Will post a pic, perhaps, as there seems to be a shortage of simple plane stand ideas. I must admit, your's is more universal...

Darn Wayne. Still get the message: "You must be a registered user to view images!
To register click on the REGISTER button in the menu above."

Even tried closing and reopening my browser.

Yup. I can take the stand apart like in 10 seconds into 3 pieces and it fits perfectly in an arm chair bag.
I can adjust the length of a chain on the bottom of the stand to make the top narrower for my 40 size planes and longer chain for this big Yak. Only cost about $ 20 to build one.

We are able to view the pics, but we can't enlarge them, so it's kinda hard to get a good look.

Did you get some video of the prototype? I swore I would never go bigger than 30%, but if this yak stands up to the hype, I may have to put my name on the preorder for the 100" (if there ever is one!)

Hey Drew

Did you get your engine and pipe back from DA yet? If so, what RPMs are you getting now?

Thanks

I will have to figure out how to get the pics viewable in full size for everyone.

Syd,
Can you at least view them in the smaller size or is it that you cant even get that far.

Bodyworks,
The 100cc will be available. I just cant say when.

Doug,
Drew hasnt sent his motor in and I am not sure he is going to. It really started to come alive this weekend. We didnt tach it but I am positive he's turning more R's than me now.
And, if he'd move his CG a little further forward, his plane would fly as good as mine.

Wayne,

The gallery is there, the thumbnails are visible to all... but in order to see the larger versions when you click on them, you have to be a registered member.

This is a setting in the admin's forum preferences... alternately you could create a guest account with username "guest" and password "yak"

Got several flights in saturday with mine in near perfect conditions and all I can say is you average 3D pilots are gonna flat ***** love this plane. It inspires confidence. I have hovered and TR'd my fun flys on the deck many times but the big fatties were allways a little too snap happy for me to do it down low. Not this one. come in low and slow yank the elevator while you feed throttle and your hovering 10 ft off the deck, drop the power a little, hold a little right aileron and your 5 feet off the deck. Very stable. Absolutely the best plane Ive ever flown. The more you fly it the more you like (heck love) it. It really flies almost like a 60 size fun fly

BBriBro

Thank you for the information on the instrument package and also the nice pilot figures. Your detail work is really nice on your Yak. I was wondering if you could let me know where you purchased that nice velcro that you used to secure a lot of your components.

Thanks

Well FedEx is pulling my chain it seems...lol

I was supposed to get it last Friday. I guess it was delayed because of the snow storm on the east coast last Thursday
and arrived Friday morning at their hub... late enough to not be loaded on the day's delivery truck.

No biggie I thought, I'll get it Monday. I needed stuff from the Wram show for it anyway.

Well, today the tracking info was saying that it was out for delivery but the FedEx truck came
to my bussiness place and left with nothing for me.... grrrrrrrrrr

Called FedEx, again, and it turns out that they loaded the box on the wrong truck. One that doesn't service my area.
'Can I come and pick it up from the hub later today?' I asked.... 'No' they said, 'the truck comes back really late'

All I can say is that the box better be in pristine condition or there'll be hell to pay tomorrow.... lol.
BTW, there is another snow storm coming our way today. They expect a foot of snow in our area and blizzard conditions.
There is a small chance we will be closed tomorrow so there will be no deliveries... [sm=eek.gif][sm=crying.gif][sm=angry.gif]

Other than that I'm ok...lol
Just waiting for Wayne to fix the forum and see the pictures at least...

Sorry Wayne,

I should have been more specific. Yes I can see the thumbnails. No love on the big pictures though.
