Did you know NX props and Bolly props are same?
Hello all,
After reading a lot about NX props and how good they are I ordered a NX 23x8 prop for my DA50 to use after break in.
I originally had Bolly 22x8 according to DA's recomendation on phone.
Looks like NX props and Bolly props are manufactured by the same place and they are identical.
Note that the red color of the Bolly brand and NX are also same, the number "4" at the bottom are identical.
Tips and everything else is same ofcourse one 23x8 the other is 22x8. Wood quality grain of the Bolly is better than Nx (Bolly more uniform) but I am sure it is not a generalization.
I did not know this and ordered NX prop from some other place that I generaly order, as not many places have them.
So if you want to try NX prop, Bolly looks the same.
Correct me if I am wrong.

The bolly wood props are a new thing. Bolly is tradisionally known for soild carbon props. So they could possibly be made by the same vendor.

Hi
they do not look the same too me the grain quality on the Bolly is from a much denser timber, and the four hub bolts for the prop are in a different plane on the two props shown, these are I would think are jig drilled to postion correctly.
My Opinion for what its worth.

To me, the tip shape looks different in the first two photos, particularly in the first photo showing both props full size.
That could be a photo effect, or possibly due to the two different prop sizes I guess.

The holes are different as I drilled the props with a drill jig and the locations are different as I wanted the 22x8 to pass under ignition at 11. The 23x8 which has the bolt holes to fire at 10:30 o'clock position.
yes the first picture the tips look different, it must be my macro lens and size difference causing that when taken far away, but the second one shows it better when I put them together side by side I can't thell the difference at any part of the props other than the size.
They are both good props and after drilling it was close to balance, Bolly was better than NX, must be the fact that NX is not as uniform in grain.

I think the #4 at the bottom of each prop is the proof they are the same manufacturer.
Good work Sherlock!.....

Good Day Gents,
I don't think they are the same.. check the airfoil profile.. I think you will find they are not the same. I have one of each in the 23 x 10. Similar but not the same..

Do your 23x10 props also have the #4 on the back side??
You think the lumberjacks are stamping the #4 on the trees.......
